2008 Excel Aid Capital Project Proposal

In December, the Canandaigua City School District Board of Education voted to bring a $19.7 million capital project for facilities improvements to district residents for their approval. The public vote will be on February 12, 2008, at the Elementary School gymnasium. More information can be found here.  Of particular interest to Canandaigua Lacrosse in the proposal is a new artificial turf surface to replace the grass at Exhibition field at the Academy.   The Varsity will play 4 home games at Exhibition this season.  Drive into the Academy parking lot after school beginning in March and you will see lacrosse teams practicing in the parking lot or in the gym for usually at least the first 2 or 3 weeks of practice.  Early scrimmages are either scheduled for away or rented surfaces, or are cancelled.  A turf field will get the teams onto a regulation field right away and will contribute to the success of our teams.  The ones that stand to benefit the most are those players currently in the modified and youth program.  Please get out and vote on Tuesday, Feb 12, between 7 & 9 at the Elementary gym.

 2008 Program

Work on this year’s program has begun. It will contain rosters, schedules, varsity profiles, stats, 2007 Year in Review, 2008 Season Preview, Canandaigua Lacrosse history, action pictures and ads.  Last week we mailed information and pricing to 500 local businesses.  This week we will begin to follow-up with those businesses to sell ad space in our program to raise money for all levels of Canandaigua Lacrosse.  This is turning into a great fund-raiser.  If you are interested in helping, or have leads to businesses that might want to advertise, contact Dan Knapton.
