WCGR to Broadcast Canandaigua Lacrosse games
Canandaigua radio station WCGR, 1550 AM, 104.5 FM, has announced that they will be broadcasting all of Canandaigua Lacrosse's Varsity games this year, both home and away (facilities permitting). There is a possibility that the games may even be archived and available at WCGR's website www.fingerlakesdailynews.com. This would allow distant friends and relatives to listen to a re-broadcast of the games. Note: If you or your business is interested in sponsoring the games or advertising during the games, contact the Geneva sales office at (315) 781-7000
Merchandise Sale - Saturday 3/29
There will be a sale of fresh Canandaigua Lacrosse merchandise on Saturday, 3/29 8:45am at the Academy. This is in conjunction with the Parent's Youth Lacrosse Kickoff meeting at 9am at the Academy. See the announcement for more information.
Youth Kickoff Meeting this Saturday, 9am
The Parent's Kickoff meeting for the youth 2008 season on Saturday morning, March 29 from 8:45 to 10:00 AM in the Canandaigua Academy gymnasium. The agenda for this meeting is as follows:
* 8:45 AM - Arrive at the Academy, browse our merchandise which will be displayed outside the gym and pick up your son's t-shirt in the gym. All players from kindergarten to 12th grade will be receiving a Canandaigua Lacrosse t-shirt.
* 9:00 AM - Group picture in the gym with all of the players and coaches from kindergarten to 12th grade. DON'T MISS THIS!
* 9:15 AM - Brief overview of the program including introduction of the coaches, remarks by Ed Mulheron, Varsity coach, practice timing and format (practices are Monday and Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 with the first practice for the 3rd to 6th graders tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 31 - the Kindergarten to 2nd graders will probably start on Wednesday, April 23), how and when teams will be selected, which tournaments we will play in and how the teams will be selected, review of the players, parents and fans code of conduct, etc.
* 9:45 AM - Equipment will be handed out
Varsity Season Kicks Off Saturday 3/29
The Canandaigua Braves Varsity season will kickoff this Saturday 2pm against McQuaid at the Aquinas Institute, 1127 Dewey Ave in Rochester. Come out and witness the beginning of what could be an awesome season. The boys have worked out the kinks by scrimmaging some teams this past week and are ready to go. There will be a team dinner this Friday night at the Moose Club with a very special guest speaker.
The 2008 Program is complete and has been shipped to the printers. They should be ready and waiting for you at the concession stand at our first home game on 4/8 against Geneva at Evans Field.
