Varsity Regular Season Wraps up

The CA Varsity team is wrapping up their regular season schedule with a game this Saturday night against  Hamburg, and next Thursday against Finger Lakes rival Penn Yan.  Hamburg is undefeated at 14-0 and is current Section VI's #1 team according to Laxpower. Next Thursday, 5/22, the Braves will wrap up the regular season on Canandaigua Youth Lacrosse Night.  All youth teams will be honored and will be presented onto the field to participate in the Varsity team introduction.  More on the festivities of Youth Night to follow.

Concession Stand help needed

The Booster Club is seeking help to work the concession stand in the remaining home games, Sat. 5/17 7pm, and Thu 5/22 7pm.  This is a good fundraiser for the Club, which supports players in all levels K-12, and adds to the atmosphere at home games.  The concession stand is set up with a great view of the whole field and is a lot of fun to work.  This is an easy way to give back to the program.  If you can help please contact Jim Garling.

www.anysoldier.com - You can Help!

A friend of mine from high school is serving his third tour in Iraq and emailed me the other day about an awesome website that lets people back in the states show their support by sending good ol' USA supplies directly to the troops who are in harm's way for our country.  You'd be surprised what little things are needed to make their jobs over there a little more tolerable.   Alot of people would like to help but have no idea of what to send, who to send it to, or how to send it.  The website tells you exactly how to do that.  If you are inclined to help support our troops in a direct way, take some time to read the info on the site & put a care package together.  If you want to send a package to my friend's unit, his name is MSgt Steven T. Westerfield and you can find a letter & pictures of his guys on his page on the site.  If you want to send something directly, mention that you are with Canandaigua Lacrosse.  If you'd like to gather up some supplies & include it as a larger package from Canandaigua Lacrosse, contact me to arrange for a drop off & I will send the package over.

Reminder - Canandaigua Tournament - 6/21

The Booster Club has begun organization of the tournament.  This has turned into a major fundraiser of the Canandaigua Lacrosse Booster Club.  It is run by volunteers and we are in need of a huge work force in order to make it as big a success as it has become. We have worked hard to uphold a reputation as one of the finest tournaments in the area. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO CONTINUE. Please contact Cindy Alves to let her know how you can volunteer.
