Stuck at home? Listen to the game live on either WCGR - 104.5 FM or 1550 AM. There have been 5 episodes posted about our Braves on www.SeasonInTheBalance.com. I must say they have done a great job documenting the season so far and the latest episode is a good depiction of what happened at OP. If you were there you will know how miserable the conditions were just to try to sit in, let alone play your best. Hats off to the boys for giving it their all in the worst of conditions. Canandaigua Girls Lacrosse Update - Are you kidding me?!!? The Canandaigua Girls Lacrosse team rocked the Maryland private school powerhouse league - IAAM - by taking down McDonogh 12-10 in their first game, unseating the #1 team in the country and immediately catapulted into the #2 spot nationally. Their next opponent, St Stephens-St Agnes (SSSA) popped into the #1 spot and almost lost it but fought off the Lady Braves, scoring the winning goal with 7 seconds left, escaping with a 9-8 victory. In their previous 12 games, SSSA beat all of their opponents by an average score of 17-4. The next day Canandaigua faced Good Counsel, who had moved up to #4 in the country. After battling back from a 9-4 deficit, our CA Girls pulled out a 10-9 win, going 2-1 in 5 days on an incredible road trip and solidified their #2 spot in the USA! If you take a look at www.laxpower.com you will see all of these teams with the highest 4 rankings in the country. Canandaigua has a shot at #1 when McDonogh plays SSSA this Saturday. If McDonogh wins the game, Canandaigua has a legitimate claim for the #1 spot. Of course all of this means little to the team's ultimate goals, but this trip has put Canandaigua on the National map for girls lacrosse and there is alot of buzz on the web about our team. Congratulations to Coach Ellis and the team and coaches on an epic road trip!
